Project Information

The game began development in October 2022, with a public initial release in January 2023. Through August 2023, gradual updates were released until the game was content-complete. The Unity game engine with the HurricaneVR and HexaBody frameworks was used throughout the game's development.

While working on this long-term project, I gained experience in...
- Scripting using C# with ECS practices.
- Designing unique puzzles and levels intended to surprise and excite players.
- Iterating on a game's design with sincere consideration for player feedback.
- Creating and maintaing custom frameworks (level managers, level design tools, etc).
- Building game software for multiple target platforms in mind (PCVR and Quest 2).
- Utilizing Unity's profiler system for game performance optimization.

Unfortunately, the game is technically not complete. It lacks a fair bit of polish and a proper ending. However, due to Unity's September 2023 situation, some major personal health concerns, and a general burnout from working on the project, I decided to move on from Misreflection. Instead, I decided to focus my attention towards learning new tools and creating bigger games with a team that allowed me to better play into my strengths and steer away from my weaknesses.
